Man assaults, strips his mother & left her in red light area after she denies bringing sex worker to home

A shocking incident of horrific abuse has surfaced in Baranagar, North 24 Parganas, where a man allegedly assaulted his elderly mother, recorded a nude video of her, and then abandoned her in a prostitution area in North Kolkata. The mother's 'offence' was reportedly opposing her son's intention to bring a woman from the prostitution area to live in their family home. Based on the victim's complaint, the Baranagar Police have arrested the accused youth, identifying him as Bhaskar Dhar.

The accused, Bhaskar Dhar, a resident of Sashibhushan Niyogi Garden Lane in Baranagar, is around 30 years old and lives with his mother and college-going sister since his father passed away 15 years ago. Conflicts were frequent between the mother and son, but tensions escalated recently when Dhar expressed his desire to bring a woman from a prostitution area home. The incident peaked around 2 AM on Monday night when Dhar returned home.

The mother vehemently protested the plan to bring the woman home. Allegedly, in a fit of rage, Dhar began brutally assaulting his elderly mother, attempting to strangle her and striping off her saree, causing her to bleed profusely. He then allegedly recorded a nude video of her on his mobile phone. Following the assault, he forcibly took his mother to a North Kolkata prostitution area, threatened to sell her, and abandoned her there before fleeing. The victim managed to return to Baranagar in the early hours of the morning, sought medical treatment at the local State General Hospital, and filed a formal complaint with the Baranagar Police on Tuesday, leading to her son's immediate arrest.
